ELIXIR Communities enable the participation of communities to practice in different areas of the life sciences in the activities of ELIXIR, which underpin the evolution of a data, tools, interoperability, compute and training infrastructure for European life science informatics.

This (virtual) meeting addresses the ELIXIR IDP Community for Intrinsically Disordered Proteins – proteins containing regions that lack a stable secondary or tertiary structure. Such regions play a central role in cell regulation, and are thought to be involved in many human diseases, including cancer, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease.

The major goal of the IDP Community is to support the development of standards, tools and resources to accelerate the identification, analysis and functional characterisation of IDPs. A better understanding of IDP structure and function will help understand biological processes, and can lead to the development of new strategies to treat human diseases.

The event is as follows:

ELIXIR community meeting - 23 and 24 February 2021, 14:00-18:00 CET time

CAID meeting - 25 February 2021, 14:00-18:00 CET time
