Post-doctoral Position at INGM - Milan - Italy
Istituto  Nazionale  di  Genetica  Molecolare  (INGM)  is  a  growing  research  institute  that
focuses  on molecular medicine, epigenetics and RNA biology. Based within the campus of the IRCCS
Ospedale Maggiore  of  Milan,  it  provides  a  dynamic  and  highly  interactive  research
environment  strongly connected with the clinic and translational medicine.
Description
A  post-‐doctoral  position  in  computational  biology  is  available  starting  from  February
2015  in  the group of Dr. Alessio Zippo at INGM in Milan, Italy. Our team investigates the
epigenetic mechanisms that  dictate  the  establishment  and  the  maintenance  of  stem  cell
identity.  We  aim  to  dissect  the molecular  mechanisms  through  which  transcription  factors
mediate  the  epigenetic  responses  to environmental signalling in Embryonic and Cancer Stem
Cells.
We are seeking highly motivated candidates that will be working closely with a group of biologists
and will be involved in developing computational methods to investigate the interplay between
epigenetic modifiers and their role in stem cell tumorigenesis,  by integrating genomic, epigenomic
and transcriptional data. Moreover, your daily work will benefit from taking part to the newly
established Biocomputing Unit in INGM, which will be coordinated by Dr. Riccardo Rossi.
Qualifications
We  welcome  candidates  holding  (or  about  to  obtain)  a  degree  in  computational  biology,
bioinformatics and related fields who wish to join a dynamic and interactive team. You should have
excellent   skills   in   both   programming   (especially   in   R)   and   communication   and
have   a   good understanding  of biology. Previous experience on dealing with next-generation
sequencing data and metadata analyses will be advantageous.

Please  apply  by  sending  a  letter  of  motivation  describing  your  interest  in  this
research  and  past

research experiences, a curriculum vitae and names of at least two referees to:
