Description: A studentship is offered to work on genome assembly and transcriptome analysis of apple using next-generation sequencing data. Additionally, creation of an interactive web page and database for manipulating and displaying annotations on genomes would be desirable. Additional training will be provided either on-site or by The Genome Analysis Centre (TGAC).
Degree Required: BSc/MSc Bioinformatics
Language Skills: English – level:Good
Other Skills: Bioinformatics skills including experience of linux/unix command-line, preferably a programming language such as Perl, Python, C++ or other. Desirable experience would include Next-generation sequence analysis.
Financial Contribution: Company: £105 per week
Other contribution: On-site accommodation available at £75 per week including all utility bills.
