In the frame of an ERC Advanced Grant recently awarded to Michele Morgante that will be carried out between the University of Udine and Istituto di Genomica Applicata (IGA, a state-of-the-art research center focused on plant genomics), we are looking for highly motivated candidates to fill two available positions at the postdoc and researcher level, respectively.
The successful candidates will be part of a research team that is composed of about 20 people and actively participates in several international sequencing projects and will work on the analysis of Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) data in the framework of the ERC project NOVABREED on "Novel variation in plant breeding and the plant pan-genomes". The main research topics will be 1) identification of small/large structural variants in grape and maize, 2) De novo assembly of genomes using NGS data 3) analysis of gene expression using sequencing data, and 4) analysis of NGS data of epigenetic modifications (ChIP-seq and BSseq).
Candidates with strong quantitative and bioinformatics skills are encouraged to apply.
Previous experience in one of the four research topics will be a plus.
Selection will continue until the positions are filled.
