PhD and Postdoc position in Computational Biology - Max Planck Institute Cologne
The research group “Computational Biology and Regulatory Networks” at the Max Planck Institute Cologne has openings for a postdoctoral and a PhD position. Our goal is the development of statistical and bioinformatics methods that lead to a better understanding of regulatory mechanisms in biological systems. We are searching for candidates with a background in statistics, physics, mathematics, or (bio-) informatics. Applicants should have a passion for developing and using computational algorithms to analyze large biological data sets. Programming experience, preferably in R or Matlab, is appreciated.
The group is jointly affiliated with the Max Planck Institute for Plant Breeding Research and the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at the University of Cologne. Since we are working in close collaboration with experimentalists, interdisciplinarity and good communication skills are required. We find that social skills are equally important for creating a joyful and productive working environment.
