Computational biologist- Screening Unit, IIT@SEMM
The Screening Unit will perform small molecule and genetic screens with a variety of endpoint readouts, including homogenous assay formats (primarily fluorescence and luminescence) and high content imaging (microscopy-based readouts). We are looking for a Computational Biologist that will interact with a strong IT department on campus, as well as external screening units in order to develop an IT pipeline for data sharing, and a web-based platform that will be accessible to internal and external collaborators. The primary scientific role of the Computational Biologist will be to utilize existing software, and develop custom-made algorithms in order to analyze and prioritize data generated during high throughput and high content screening campaigns. For the position, experience handling and analyzing large datasets from cell-based assays is highly desirable. Expertise with Java, C or Python programming languages is a distinct plus. Additional experience with bio-analytical tools for pathway analysis and the R statistical programming language is advantageous.
