Description
Within your internship you will apply the state-of-the-art text mining
technology (LUXID), System Biology (CellDesigner + SBML2SMW), Knowledge
engineering (Semantic Media Wiki) in the field of biomedical sciences,
supporting ongoing R&D projects. You will construct disease Maps and
molecular interaction maps and making use of advanced text mining and
knowledge management methodologies refined by the department. Details of
the methodologies are published (Mathäss et al, 2nd Workshop of Ontologies
in Biomedicine and Life Sciences, OBML2010, Mannheim, Germany; Abdul Mateen
Rajput & Luca Toldo, NETTAB2010, Naples, Italy; Kant CS, et al., Expert

Qualifications
You are currently studying Biology, Computer Science, Pharmaceutical
studies, Physiology or Physiopathology and you are in the second half of
your studies. You have a great interest in linguistic analysis, linguistic
programming, linguistic regular expressions as well as in text mining.
Further you have strong communication skills and you are a great team
player. Your command of English is excellent, which means that you are
fluent in reading scientific and medical documents. Fluent understanding
of written Japanese is a plus.Ideally you also have UIMA knowhow.
