The Fondazione Humanitas per la Ricerca seeks candidates for a postdoctoral position to be involved in research projects investigating the transcriptional profile of innate immune cells in response to inflammatory and immune stimuli, in human diseases and animal models.

The position, funded by the Fondazione CARIPLO in the context of the NOBEL project, will be open at the recently established research facilities in Humanitas, involving 16 research groups and over 100 scientists mainly focused on mechanisms of innate and adaptive immunity, inflammation, and immunodegenerative diseases (http://www.humanitas.it/hur/cms/la_nostra_squadra/laboratori/).

Applicants must have a PhD title in biology or biostatistic disciplines, be highly motivated for scientific research, and have good written and spoken English communication skills. Documented experience in database development (MySQL, PHP, HTML), script language (perl/python), and knowledge of R/bioconductor and bioinformatic approaches applied to transcriptional profile analysis are required.

The position will open in autumn 2008 and will last three years, with a salary range from Euro 25.000 to Euro 35.000 depending on the experience.
