We are:

The mission of the Functional Genomics Laboratory of the University of Verona (Italy) is to carry out genomic analysis, by implementing and developing the state-of-the-art high-throughput technologies into novel applications.

We ask:

We seek for applicants with knowledge in informatics or bioinformatics. The candidate will be responsible for the appropriate programming of a novel liquid handler robot, in order to prepare samples for the next-generation sequencing. He/she will work in close collaboration with Hamilton Robotics and the Functional Genomics Lab at the Department of Biotechnology. We want an independent, creative, innovative and well-organized person with excellent cooperative skills.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university in one of these fields of study: informatics, computational biology, bioinformatics, computer science or related fields.

  • Programming/scripting skills

  • Familiar with Unix environment

  • Good communication and organizational skills

  • Proficiency in English

    Desired or preferred:

  • PhD in one of these fields of study: informatics, biotechnology, computational biology, bioinformatics, computer science, statistics or related fields.

  • Background in biology, molecular biology, genetics or genomics

  • Experience with high level programming

  • Experience with the setup of automated platforms

  • Experience with implementing algorithms

  • Management skills
