Meeting (ITG-Fachgruppe Bio-Informationstheorie) - Halle/Saale - Germany,
 CALL FOR ABSTRACTS AND PARTICIPATION

=================================================
Meeting (ITG-Fachgruppe Bio-Informationstheorie)
"Gene Regulation and Information Theory"
Halle/Saale, Germany, April 17-19, 2013
Abstract Deadline: April 1, 2013
=================================================

We are pleased to announce the first meeting on Gene Regulation and
Information Theory taking place at Halle/Saale, Germany, from April 17
through April 19, 2013.

Modern biology is under change. New experimental techniques now allow
measuring biological processes with high precision, leading to an
avalanche of high-throughput data, but also to the exciting opportunity of
answering fundamental scientific questions that could not be addressed in
the past. The development of new theoretical concepts, modern methods for
data analysis, and mathematical models has started to play a central role
in this adventure.

Moreover, the emergence of truly interdisciplinary research teams uniting
scientists from very different fields under one roof have started to
change the way in which research in the biosciences is being conducted.
The meeting intends to stimulate such interdisciplinary collaborations by
bringing together scientists from molecular biology, information theory,
and related areas who are interested in analysing and modelling biological
processes, this time with a special focus on the exciting and rapidly
evolving field of gene regulation.
