The Chairs and Organizers of the “BBCC2026 – Bioinformatics and Computational Biology Conference” are pleased to invite contributions for the selection of oral presentations and poster/short presentations to be included in the Conference Program.
BBCC2026 is the 21st edition of the conference, which aims to bring together researchers, academics, students, and professionals from around the world to discuss the latest advancements and challenges in bioinformatics and computational biology.
The Program includes lectures from the invited speakers:
– Prof. Manja Marz, Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, Friedrich-Schiller-University Jena, Jena, Germany
– Prof. Irina Moreira, Faculty of Sciences and Technology, University of Coimbra, Portugal
– Dr. Alessandro Pandini, Department of Computer Science, Brunel University London, UK
– Prof. Richard Röttger, Dept. of Mathematics and Computer Science (IMADA) University of Southern Denmark (SDU), Odense M, Denmark
The Program will be completed by oral presentations and posters presented by registered participants. Contributions are welcome for the following topics:
Artificial Intelligence in Data Analytics
Artificial Intelligence and emerging solutions in bioinformatics
Big data and data science
Bioinformatics and Industry-Academy partnerships
Biotechnology and Bioinformatics Solutions
Databases of biological information
Networks and Pharmacology
Novel and challenging methodologies
Omics and Disease
Precision Medicine
Single-Cell and Spatial Multi-Omics
Structural Bioinformatics
Systems biology
Workflow management and AI
The selected papers will be included in the sessions of the final programme, which will be determined on the basis of the topics of greatest interest.
Proposals for special sessions can be submitted no later than July 5th by filling out the contact form or by direct contacts with the Chairs. The list of Sessions will be updated by 10 July.
Abstract of oral presentations and posters/short presentations can be submitted by the submission form, which will be available starting July 1. Abstracts must be written in English, present original research describing new developments and/or practical applications, and the main text must not exceed 3,000 characters, including spaces, without images.
The deadline for submitting oral presentation abstracts is July 31.
The deadline for submitting poster presentation abstracts is September 7.
Abstracts will be evaluated by members of the Scientific Committee for admission to the Conference Program.
For each abstract admitted in the Conference Program, it is required the registration of one author in order to be included into the Final Program of the Conference.
Authors will be notified of the acceptance status of their abstracts and then invited to register to confirm participation.
Instructions for preparing presentations and posters will be provided after the author registration to the Conference.
BBCC2026 publications: abstracts, presentations, post-conference articles
1) Abstract Book: an Unofficial Abstract Book as pdf file will be distributed to participants, with the abstracts of the selected contributions.
2) Slides and poster presentations: the slides from the oral presentations and posters will be published, upon voluntary submission by the authors, on an online platform with DOI assignment (in preparation).
3) Special Issue: BBCC2026 participants are invited to submit extended versions of their work to the associated Special Issue entitled “Bioinformatics and Computational Biology Applications in Structural Biotechnology” in the Computational and Structural Biotechnology Journal. Detailed instructions for submission can be found in the Guidelines for Authors: https://spj.science.org/page/csbj/for-authors
