The submission site for Late Posters for ISMB/ECCB 2007 will close
June 10. This is the last chance to submit a poster for possible
presentation at the main conference (see later deadline for Student
Council Symposium below). Accepted Late Posters are intended to be
on display throughout the duration of the conference, space
permitting, and will be included in the appropriate topic areas and
author sessions among all other posters previously accepted.
Conference limit is one poster per presenter, so if you already
have an accepted poster an additional Late Poster will not be
accepted. However, if you are not already presenting a poster and
have research that you would like to present at ISMB/ECCB 2007
please be ready with a 50 word abstract, a one page PDF abstract,
and a scientific justification statement of up to 250 words and
visit the submission site via the above link.

3rd ISCB Student Council Symposium Call for Abstracts

The ISCB Student Council is organizing the 3rd Student Council
Symposium (SCS3) to be held on Saturday, July 21st, in parallel to
the ISMB/ECCB 2007 tutorial sessions in Vienna, Austria. The agenda
includes two invited keynote speakers, a panel discussion with
senior scientists, presentation of oral abstracts and a poster
session. This is a forum for students and young researchers to
present their work to an international audience build a network
community and develop important soft skills in an environment that
fosters exchange of ideas and knowledge. This is also the last
remaining opportunity for students and post doc attendees of the
ISMB/ECCB 2007 conference to secure a speaking time slot, as
reviewers will be selecting the best of the SCS3 abstracts for oral
presentation. Abstract submissions to the SCS3 can be a duplicate
of what was submitted for the main conference poster session.
Additionally, five travel fellowships worth £400 (~$780) are
available for undergraduate and masters students who are holding a
passport issued by an EU- or EMBC-state. Applicants need to be
single first author and presenter of an accepted abstract at the

MARC Travel Support Funding Available for ISMB/ECCB 2007

As a member society of the Federation of American Societies for
Experimental Biology (FASEB), travel support funding is currently
available for any ISCB member who is a US citizen or USA permanent
resident/green card holder, belonging to a minority group
designated as underrepresented in the biological and behavioral
sciences by the NIH, whose oral or poster submission has been
accepted for presentation at the conference (including Late Poster
presenters). To learn more and to apply please visit the Minority

section titled Poster/Platform (Oral) Presenter Travel Award
(midway down the page). These awards are fully managed by FASEB,
with membership and presentation status verification provided by

ended, but registration remains open for those still making plans
to attend the year’s premier conference on computational biology
