RESEARCH FELLOW IN BIOINFORMATICS
Job Description:
Applications are invited for a Research Fellow in statistics/bioinformatics to join a multidisciplinary team working on gene sets analysis and integration of genome-wide gene and miRNA expression data.
The person will work on the development and application of statistical methods and bioinformatics tools for the study of the transcriptional and post-transcriptional regulatory processes related to the development and progression of myeloproliferative neoplasms.
The post will be based in the Department of Statistical Sciences and the Department of Biology.
Both departments offer excellent research facilities and a friendly and stimulating working environment.

We are seeking applicants with postgraduate training in statistics/biostatistics, mathematical modelling, bioinformatics, or equivalent.
Ability to develop complex statistical models and strong programming skills are essential.

Applicants should be able to work independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary research team.
A record of published research would be advantageous.
The appointment is funded by CARIPARO Foundation under project "Role of coding and non-coding RNA in chronic myeloproliferative neoplasms: from bioinformatics to translational research" (PI Dr. S. Bortoluzzi) and will be available for 24 months, starting in January 2014.
