Bioinformatic position available in clinical cancer research, Milan

We currently have an open position to be filled as soon as we have identified the candidate. The project will mainly focus on the prognostic and predictive role of the immune system in breast cancer and other solid tumors but also on several other aspects of cancer research including the analysis of next-generation sequencing data.

The join appointment in both the department of Medical Oncology and the Center for Translational Genomics and Bioinformatics will provide the candidate a dynamic and stimulating scientific environment in which to improve both the clinical translational research knowledge and computational skills.  
The salary will be defined according to the candidate experience.
The position is guaranteed for three years with a possibility to shift in a permanent position.

The candidate must have documented experience with analysis of microarray and high throughput sequencing data.
Degree in bioinformatics, computer science or statistics is required, as well as proved working knowledge of numerical analysis environments (R or pylab), and programming skills in at least one language among Python, C/C++, Perl or Java.
Previous experience in analysis of big data and biological interpretation of complex datasets of high throughput data would be preferred.
Experience in integration of data from multiple platforms and on functional genomics will be a plus.
This position requires good verbal and written communication skills in English.
