Initial contract length: yearly contract up subject to possible renewal up to 3 years.
After evaluation of applications and interviews (meetings can also occur via skype),
the selected candidates will be requested to apply to a publicly open "Concorso" in Pisa (CNR site).
The candidate's application material will be evaluated and scored, and an oral presentation will follow
(about your projects, your thesis, etc) with discussion.
We expect to invite the selected candidates during Fall 2012.
Gross annual salary in in the range of 19,400 - 26,000 Euro/year depending on qualifications,
with yearly gross increases of about 2000 Euro. The applicable tax rate is 9,24%.
Qualification REQUIRED SKILLS:
Quantitative background from one (or more) of the fields listed below:

Important!
Clear demonstration of experience in analysis and modelling of biomedical and clinical data must be provided.
Special skills (highly desired):
1. Experience in graphs/networks (design, inference, annotation).
2. In-depth understanding and implementation of methods and development of
algorithms for statistical and machine learning classification, clustering, predictive
modelling.
3. Target application domains especially address omic AND clinical data analysis, in
particular gene regulatory networks, protein interactomes, development of diagnostic tools, Next Generation Sequencing, bio-image processing.
Candidates with programming/scripting experience are preferred.
In particular, proficiency in one or more mainstream programming languages (C, C++,
Java, Python, Perl, etc.), together with the understanding of relational database design
and SQL/DBMS systems (e.g. MySQL, PHP, Oracle).
Desired technical characteristics:
- Expertise in methods and technologies involving Database and Datawarehouse
resources utilized for integrative analysis of omics and clinical data.
- Experience with ontologies, data exchange standards, data mining, etc.
- Expertise in visualization methods (ex. Cytoscape) for use with bio-platforms.
- Building computational Pipelines,
- Implementing Software tools, Data fusion, mining and assimilation,
- Biological annotation.
