JOB: Next Generation Sequencing platform - Bioinformatics Ingeneer - Institut Universitaire de Recherche Clinique - France
Job Description:
The Molecular Genetics Department at IURC is a public-health non-profit laboratory devoted to
research and clinical applications in human genetics, particularly rare disorders. This Department
acquired a NGS platform and is looking for a Bioinformatics Manager specialized with NGS.
Highly motivated individuals skilled with NGS Bioinformatics are invited to apply.
 
Responsibilities:
Will be responsible for the deployment and use of bioinformatics analysis pipelines for NGS.
Provide state of the art NGS bioinformatics core services.
Provide bioinformatics guidance to researchers
 
Job duties include but are not limited to:
-Work in a cross-functional group of bioinformaticians and molecular biologists,
-Deploy and maintain bioinformatics pipelines for NGS analysis,
-Contribute to existing computational infrastructure for assay design in both algorithm development
and efficient implementation,
-Analyze data from NGS instruments to characterize performance of various assays and library
preparation methods,
-Provide methods and prototypes as internal tools and end-user applications
-Participate in academic collaborations
 
Requirements:
Engineer or Ph.D. in Bioinformatics with demonstrated prior experience analyzing large
NGS datasets, including re-sequencing, assembly, variant calling, RNA-Seq, ChIP-Seq, etc..
Proficiency with standard bioinformatics and statistics tools, resources and packages.
Proficiency and programming/scripting experience.
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain pipelines in HPC environments
Experience in developing algorithms for sequence analysis in genomics applications
Superior communication skills in highly diverse cross-discipline environment
Dynamic personality striving to achieve results and enjoying technical challenges, and training
colleagues and students
Excellent communication skills in English (and/or French) and organizational skills.
Self-starter and proactive.
Demonstrated strong analytical and troubleshooting skills and ability to innovate.
