Genome Bioinformatics Researcher
Breakthrough Breast Cancer Research Unit
We are seeking a motivated and qualified researcher in the area of genome bioinformatics.
The candidate must have experience in the analysis of high throughput genomic data and strong software programming skills.
Applicants should have a PhD or equivalent experience in Bioinformatics, Biochemistry, Computer Sciences or related disciplines with a bioinformatics orientation.
They will enjoy working alongside clinicians and biologists on complex real-world datasets, and will have significant experience using tools such as R/Bioconductor, Matlab and SQL.
The post holder will be responsible for the development of scientific methodologies and IT solutions for the analysis and interpretation of high-throughput genomic data. They will be part of the Bioinformatics Team of the Breakthrough Breast Cancer Research Unit, working on the identification of novel therapeutic targets for triple-negative breast cancers.
This post will be based on the Guy’s Hospital campus of King’s College London.
Appointment will be for 2 years in the first instance. Salary will be awarded depending on experience, £33,193 to £34,121 inclusive of £2,323 London Allowance per annum.
