Pre- and postdoctoral positions are available at the BioComputing Laboratory, Dept. of Biology, University of Padova. Highly motivated and creative candidates are sought to work on structural bioinformatics.

The BioComputing Laboratory is working on several aspects of prediction of protein structure & function employing techniques at the intersection between biology, medicine, chemistry, physics & computer science. Our aim is to integrate the development of novel methods and their application to biologically relevant problems.

We are looking for candidates with a Bioinformatics background, e.g. Engineering/Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, etc. with good knowledge of protein structure or e.g. Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry etc. with good programming experience (C++, Java and/or Perl). Candidates should have been awarded their degree, or expect to complete it by the Summer of 2010, have top marks, and be highly motivated to work on interdisciplinary research. Good knowledge of English, an open-minded spirit, being collaborative and creative are crucial.
