Job Description:
A position is available at the Department of Biology of the University of Rome Tov Vergata for a junior informatician with experience in database management (Postgresql) and development of web applications in Java. Interest and understanding of biological problems is considered favorably. The work will consist in managing and further developing the MNT protein interaction database (http://mint.bio.uniroma2.it/mint/). The database software and web-interface are developed in Java and include technologies and frameworks such as Maven, Struts, web-services, Jboss etc. MINT management consists of data updates (Uniprotkb etc.), regular releases, and data exchange in the context of the IMEx consortium. Depending on experience and motivation, scientific interaction with the experimental colleagues in the group is strongly encouraged. Salary is negotiable and according to experience.
