Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Group of
Prof. Martin Howard in the Department of Computational and Systems Biology.
The successful candidate will join a team working in the area of
computational biology/biological physics, focusing in particular on
the spatiotemporal dynamics of proteins both inside single cells and in
developmental biology. Current areas of interest in the group include
protein localisation inside bacteria, fluctuations in morphogen gradients,
mechanisms of robust signal transduction/amplification and membrane receptor

The John Innes Centre is a world-class Institute and is looking to appoint
an exceptional candidate who has, or expects to soon receive, a PhD in
theoretical physics, bio-mathematics or related subject. Prior experience
in biological modelling is desirable but not essential. Creativity and
intellectual independence are essential, and proven ability to write
scientific papers is desirable. The successful candidate must be available
to travel to international meetings and for short visits to collaborating
laboratories abroad. We will be providing the job-holder with opportunities
to develop their technical and transferable skills during this assignment,
by way of training programmes, coaching and mentoring.
The appointment will be as a Postdoctoral Researcher for up to 2.5 years and
the salary will be within the range £26,088 to £28,986 dependent upon qualifications and experience. This post may attract an additional retention
