Bioinformatician (Jr/Sr) – Transcriptomics & Neuroscience
Location
San Raffaele Hospital (Milan)

The Laboratory of Molecular Neurobiology at San Raffaele Hospital (Milan) investigates neurovascular mechanisms that regulate nervous system physiology and pathology. We apply transcriptomic approaches to explore the crosstalk between vascular, neuronal, and immune cells at neurovascular interfaces in health and disease, with a focus on amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and nerve repair (Martins et al., 2022 Bhat et al., 2024 Ruiz de Almodovar et al., 2025).

We are seeking a bioinformatician (junior or senior level) to join our team.

The work will be carried out within the framework of a recently awarded ERC Synergy Grant, offering opportunities for international collaboration and scientific exchange.

The successful candidate will also interact closely with the Center for Omics Sciences of San Raffaele Hospital, which brings together a large community of bioinformaticians and provides an ideal collaborative environment for exchange of expertise and bioinformatics skills development.

Required skills:
• Programming in R and/or Python
• Experience with analysis of next-generation sequencing transcriptomic datasets (bulk/single-cell RNA-seq; spatial transcriptomics)
• Strong interest in biological data interpretation

Additional expectations for senior profiles:
• Proven contribution to peer-reviewed publications
• Ability to organize analyses and figures for publication
• Expertise in neuroscience and/or vascular biology is a plus

The contract type and salary will be adjusted according to experience and profile.

Candidates are invited to send their CV and a brief statement of interest to:
