Telethon-Cariplo Postdoctoral Position at the Chromatin and Nuclear Architecture laboratory, INGM.
Location
INGM, MIlan
Referent
Chiara Lanzuolo
Deadline for application
Settembre 2022
We are evaluating candidates for a postdoctoral position in the CNR-INGM joint laboratory of Dr. Chiara Lanzuolo on a Telethon-Cariplo funded project. Our team investigates the epigenetic mechanisms governing the onset and the progression of nuclear envelope diseases and aging. We are devoted in understanding how the genome folding occurs in the nuclear space finding the right orientation and nuclear position and how this conformation is then maintained or regulated in dynamic physiological processes in health and in disease. The Telethon-Cariplo project will investigate the role of genome conformation and nuclear structures in Emery Dreifuss Muscular Dystrophy using iPS cells and new sequencing-based technologies developed in our laboratory. Successful candidate will benefit from the possibility to work in close collaboration with computational biologists from the group of Dr. Francesco Ferrari (IFOM), taking part in scientific discussions on a day-to-day basis.
Istituto Nazionale di Genetica Molecolare (INGM) is a growing research institute that focuses on preventive molecular medicine, tumour associated infectious diseases, RNA and Genome Biology and Epigenetics. Based within the campus of the IRCCS Ospedale Maggiore of Milan, it provides a dynamic and highly interactive research environment strongly connected with the clinic and translational medicine.
We are seeking highly motivated candidates holding (or about to obtain) a PhD degree. We expect our new team members to be creative and interested in basic science and novel technologies. Previous experience in chromatin biology will be seen as a benefit. Given the collaborative and multidisciplinary nature of the project, good communication skills are essential and fluency in spoken and written English is required. Please apply by sending a letter of motivation describing your interest in this research and past research experiences, a curriculum vitae and names of at least two referees to:
