The position will be within in the division Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Graz, Austria. The successful candidate is expected to have an excellent scientific track record in order to start an independent research group. The group will focus on computational pharmacology including, but not limited to: computational biology approaches to study drug-genome/proteome interactions, molecular networks, genetic variation, post-translational protein modifications, pharmacogenomics, OMICS data integration, genotype to phenotype models, machine learning approaches combining laboratory and patient data, etc.
The research of the successful candidate will complement the ongoing research activities in the Life Sciences in Graz through active participation in the University of Graz research core area "BioHEALTH", as well as in the inter-university network BioTechMed-Graz. Participation in undergraduate teaching at the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and the (co-)supervision of master and doctoral theses is expected.
Associated to the Network Pharmacology group headed by Ulrich Stelzl, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to set up an independent research group for a period of six years. This offer includes a small start-up package and resources to fill a Ph. D. position. When tenured within this period the candidate will be promoted to Associate / Full professor at the University of Graz.
