Postdoctoral position in computational network/systems biology (ref. PD/15/02)
 
diseases, including Alzheimer´s disease and stem cells pathological ageing (e.g. MDS and B-CLL), in the
frame of the ERC and FP7 funded projects SysPharmAD and SyStemAge. The main objective of the
projects is the identification of novel biomarkers in complex pathologies that correlate with clinical
outcomes, to monitor the onset and progression of the pathology from very early stages, and to discover
 

DUTIES
 
 
The successful candidate will be responsible for construction of disease-associated networks,
which will be used as a framework for the integration and analyses of RNA-seq and proteomics
data collected from patients and animal models. In addition, he/she will use these data to
design a systems pharmacology approach, based on concerted multi-target perturbations, able to
monitor and modify the biology of the disease and stop its progression.

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED

  •  PhD degree or equivalent in bioinformatics or computational biology
  •  Experience in the analyses of RNA-seq and proteomics data
  •  Experience in computational network/systems biology modelling
  •  Remarkable publications record, according to career stage
  •  Excellent programming/scripting skills
  •  Positive organizational, problem solving and communication skills
  •  Fluent spoken and written English
