We are currently characterizing several tumor samples coming from patients with relapsed acute myeloid leukemia (AML). The aim of the project is to develop computational and systems biology tools to detect the somatic variants and the pathways that are altered in relapsed AML.

 

The Position is funded by Fondazione Cariplo and requires a PhD degree with or without post-doctoral experience.

 

The candidate shall operate within the Center for Genomic Science of IIT@SEMM (http://genomics.iit.it) located in Milan, Italy. The Center benefits from state-of-the art facilities and advanced technologies, including next-generation DNA sequencing. The successful candidate will be integrated in a lively community of experimental and computational scientists.

 

The ideal candidate for this position should have experience in the analysis of large genomic datasets, excellent analytical skills, very good oral/written communication and interpersonal skills. In particular, the applicant should have:
experience in software and algorithm development and strong programming skills (especially in python and R), familiarity with Unix/Linux environment. A background in computer science/engineering/physics/math will be considered an advantage.
