Job Description:

A post-doctoral position is available at the University of Florida, Gainesville, for research on bioinformatics and computational biology.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree and a strong interest in computer science, bioinformatics and genomics. Familiarity with established bioinformatics tools, with programming in the UNIX environment and with basic relational database use, as well as a general understanding of biological structures and processes, is required. Experience with the Common Lisp programming language is a plus.

Work in our group is aimed at the development of innovative software applications for data and knowledge management in genomics and computational biology, with a focus on high-throughput biology (e.g. whole-genome studies, microarray data analysis, etc). We use advanced programming tools to develop complex, efficient, and highly visible resources for the bioinformatics community. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to join in existing research projects or to develop new research lines, in a vibrant, multidisciplinary environment that promotes interactions and collaborations.
