Merging Knowledge: from programming languages to personalised healthcare

This scientific event celebrates the fifth anniversary of CoSBi with top speakers from the Centre’s scientific reference community.

We envision a unique, multidisciplinary environment which stimulates discussion and encourages collaboration on challenges such as the intersection of life sciences and computer science by considering the road from programming languages to personalised healthcare.

We will highlight the relevance of computer science through lectures by guest speakers on simulation, verification and computational thinking – the basis of algorithmic systems biology.

We will present some of CoSBi’s main findings by including in the programme the defence of three PhD theses carried out at CoSBi and a public session of our advisory board review.

Guest speakers will explore the main fields of systems biology and computational biology as well as topics like nutrigenomics, an area currently being investigated by CoSBi that merges personalised medicine with personalised diet.
