ISCB Wikipedia Competition

With our teaching programs beginning the new year, the ISCB Wikipedia Competition Steering Committee would like to take this opportunity to promote the ISCB Wikipedia Competition.

The competition has been running since 2012 and aims to improve Wikipedia's coverage of computational biology; it is open to students and trainees at any level, either as individuals or as groups. As in previous years, prizes of up to $500 and complementary ISCB memberships will be awarded to the best improvements, as judged by a panel of experts.

We have previously had success with educators using the competition as part of their classroom activities and we encourage you to consider doing the same. While this may not be possible this semester, we highly recommend you suggest to suitable students that they enter the competition.

Entries are open now; the closing date for entries is 17 May 2019 and the winners will be announced at the Town Hall meeting at the ISMB/ECCB conference in July 2019.
