Bioinformatician for Research
With direction and support of the Head of Research IT, facilitate discussions to help business anticipate future needs and opportunities
• Work with Head of Research IT to raise new project proposals and mandates.
• Support definition of the business case for identified initiatives.
• Understand and communicate where technology can help.
Conduct assessments of processes and data to detail requirements
• Interview business partners, organize and run requirements sessions with groups of users.
• Analyze and model relevant business processes, rules and data relationships. Document “as is” process.
• Determine data flows and sources, identify data conversion or migration needed to support goals and uses in a process.
• Lead authoring of the user requirements document.
• Ensure the business aligns processes (SOPs) with the system functionality requested.
Collaborate with business lead to investigate and define solutions that deliver business value
• As needed, support software package evaluation. Collaborate to identify potential packages and vendors to review with the team, define selection criteria and review prototypes.
• Contribute to the creation of the functional specifications, design specifications, and consult on conceptual design reviews.
• For new systems, help define goals and objectives of service level agreements (SLAs), including performance expectations.
• Guide the business on creating key messages to be used in change management plans and training material content.
• Support the definition and execution of new projects and the post go-live activities
Required skills
• Perfect English, spoken and written
• Experience in IT related matters
• Understanding of IT Strategy and IT Architecture
• Degree in Bioinformatics or Information management
Subject of the temporary contract
Design and implementation of the L: Drive in Cambridge by leveraging the model of the Siena L: Drive, definition and selection of the Asset Management system for Research Laboratories, selection and pilot of the RFID solution for the Siena Research laboratories, participate and support the 2014 Research IT budget definition.
It is foreseen to have a two month presence in Cambridge (Massachusetts, US) for the implementation of the L:Drive.
