PostDoc (3 years) position in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology : Benevento, Italy
Job Description: PostDoc (3 years) position in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology at the Department of Science and Technology, University of Sannio, Benevento, Italy

Applications are invited for postdoctoral researchers in Bioinformatics in the area of high throughput sequence analysis. This position is associated to a project entitled “Non-Coding RNA Explosion: Novel Implications in Neurotrophin Biology”. The aim of this project is to identify non-coding RNAs functionally associated with neurotrophic factors of the neurotrophin family in the model vertebrate zebrafish. The study is expected to provide a panel of new regulatory molecules involved in neurothrophin-regulated signal transduction pathways, under physiological and pathological conditions of the nervous system development and function.

The successful post-doc candidate will work in a multidisciplinary bioinformatics team composed by computer and life sciences researchers, and will strongly cooperate with wet labs of the other partners of the project. He/she will have opportunities to be involved in cutting-edge research with a high potential for career development. The main activities will be focused on data analysis, in particular sequence analysis, comparative genomics, and the development of novel algorithms in the context of ncRNA discovery and regulation.
