Support bioinformatician for NGS data analysis in Genomnia - Milan - Italy
 Genomnia (http://www.genomnia.com) is a rapidly growing, ISO 9001 certified private small company, technologically very advanced and focused on providing genetic services in the fields of deep sequencing (ABI SOLiD technology) and qPCR. We are currently located in the outskirts of Milano (Lainate) and will relocate in a new company building in 2013.
 
The company has active research projects and contracts in a wide range of applications: miRNA profiling and discovery; Whole Transcriptome sequencing and analysis; CHiP-Seq; Full Exome and Targeted resequencing; Serial Analysis of Gene Expression; De Novo sequencing and annotation of small genomes. In addition to the data analysis activities,a number of national and international scientific collaborations on Biocomputing and Statistical methods are already established in the Bioinformatics Unit. 
 
We have invested significantly in bioinformatics infrastructure and personnel as one of our core values and selling points. We use both an internal biocomputing infrastructure (workstations + large shared memory server + cluster) and contracted access to an external shared HPC facility. 
 
In the framework of a new financed project on applied Stem Cells research, GENOMNIA is currently looking for a: 
 
Support bioinformatician for NGS data analysis
 
To join our current bioinformatic staff, focusing on deep sequencing & qPCR comprehensive data analysis. The offer is for a 12 months contract
 
We require: 
 
Mandatory
 
- At least one year of previous specific experience with NGS data analysis, possibly demonstrated through scientific publications or a degree thesis, in an Industrial or Academic environment.
- Scientific degree (at least a B.Sc. and preferentially a M.Sc./Ph.D.) in a discipline with relevant content of Bioinformatics and/or Statistics and/or Molecular Genetics. 
- Knowledge of Scientific English. 
- Professional work attitude; real interest for working in a company; creativity, elasticity and willingness to cope with intense work patterns. 
- Good organizational skills and availability to respect strict deadlines for contracted work. 
 
Preferential 
 
- Good command or at least one programming or scripting language such as Perl, Python, Java in an UNIX environment. 
- Work experience in a non-Italian Industry or Research Institute.
