PostDoc in Systems Pharmacology - COSBI - Rovereto, Italy
 Description
In the context of a dynamically growing research-focused institute, the PostDoc in Systems Pharmacology will support COSBI in the implementation of research initiatives in the area of neurodegenerative disorders. This position is open to computational scientists with strong aptitude for data analysis. The candidate will analyze new and publicly available high-throughput (i.e., omics) data and contribute to the development of novel analytical approaches. Although a basic understanding of neurodegenerative disorders and/or pharmacology is essential, this position is not intended for wet-lab oriented researchers. The candidate will report to the Principal investigator in Systems Pharmacology.

He/she will be responsible for:
- providing biological and computational knowledge in the field of neurodegenerative disorders;
- working in a multidisciplinary team with computer and life scientists;
- promoting the work of COSBI, through scientific publications and presentations;
- acquiring external public/private funds for neurodegenerative/systems pharmacology projects.

Required skills and experience:
- PhD in bioinformatics, statistics or related fields;
- previous experience with high-throughput data analysis in the field of neurodegenerative disorders;
- excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal;
- previous experience with scripting languages for data analysis or simulation.

Desirable:
- knowledge of modeling formalisms to simulate biological systems.
 
Job hours and salary:

Location:
The work location is Rovereto, Northern Italy.
