Group Leader in Computational & Systems Biology
Job Description: The Telethon Institute of Genetics and Medicine (TIGEM) in Naples (Italy) (http://www.tigem.it) was created in 1994 by the Telethon Foundation, one of Italy’s major non-profit organizations, to promote the advancement of research aimed at the diagnosis, prevention and cure of human genetic diseases.
 
TIGEM is looking for a bright, young candidate to lead an independent research group within the Systems Biology & Functional Genomics Research Program.
 
The Systems Biology and Functional Genomics (SBFG) program at TIGEM focuses on the development and application of integrated experimental and computational tools in mammalian systems to study genetic diseases and therapeutic approaches. The team of investigators in this programme comes from medical, biological, engineering and physics background, thus making TIGEM one of the few interdisciplinary institutes applying systems biology approaches to genetic diseases
 
Candidates are required to hold a Ph.D. degree and at least a two year PostDoc experience. Priority will be given to candidates with a proven expertise in development and application of computational methods for large-scale data analysis. Applications will be considered at the Assistant Investigator level with a three-­year renewable contract. The starting package will include salary for a graduate student, travel and basic equipment.
