One Post-Doc position in the Department of Agricultural and Forestry Science (DAFNE), University of Tuscia, Viterbo, in a newly established Bioinformatic Lab.

The Department of Agricultural and Forestry Science (DAFNE) at the University of Tuscia, Viterbo, is seeking one candidate interested in managing a new Bioinformatic Lab and collaborating with the researchers of the Deparment to solve bioinformatics issues in the fields of microbiology, plant and zoology sciences. We are looking for someone with basic biological and evolutionary knowledge, able to independently accomplish bioinformatics tasks.
REQUIREMENTS
Candidates are expected to have knowledge of biology, functional genomics and programming in a UNIX/Linux environment. Previous experience with comparative genomics and genomics databases is a desirable asset. The selected students will become familiar with at least a scripting language (e.g. Python, Perl), a database system (e.g. MySQL) and a statistical programming environment (e.g. R) in order to build bioinformatics pipelines to answer scientific questions.
