We are pleased to announce a one-week school on Algorithms in Structural Bioinformatics. The aim is to introduce advanced methods in this domain, giving special attention to interdisciplinary approaches. The main focus this year will be on methodological developments meant to analyze and model antibodies and their complexes.

The following topics will be taught (details of the lectures at http://algosb2016.inria.fr/lectures.html):

I.
Standards and tools for sequences and 3D structures of immunoglobulins (IGs):
the international ImMunoGeneTics information system Marie-Paule Lefranc and Patrice Leroux, Univ. of Montpellier 2 and CNRS, France

II.
Basic concepts and novel algorithms for modeling antibodies and their interactions Juan Cortés, LAAS / CNRS, Toulouse, France Charles Robert, CNRS / IBPC, France

III.
Modeling antibody - antigen complexes:
predicting binding affinity and interaction specificity Frederic Cazals, Inria Sophia Antipolis, France

IV.
In-silico structure based design of antibodies Charlotte Deane, Oxford University, UK

V.
Visualizing binding assay data using antigenic cartography David Burke, Cambridge University, UK

Each day's morning session will consist of a lecture, and the afternoon session will be devoted to a hands-on computer lab on the participants' laptops.

INTENDED AUDIENCE. The school is primarily intended for thirty PhD students and postdoctoral researchers. A number of slots are also available for young researchers from academia or industry.

DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS. A one-page application (pdf format) should be sent by email to algosb-coordinators@inria.fr with Subject "AlgoSB application", by September 10th, 2016.

The application should provide a mini-vitae or a pointer to the full vitae, a brief presentation of the applicant's research interests, and a few lines commenting on expected synergy between his or her research and the courses that will be taught.

Notification of acceptance will be provided by September 30th. It is expected that all accepted students will participate in the entire school period.

VENUE AND PARTICIPATION FEES. The Algorithmics in Structural Bioinformatics school will take place on the French Riviera, at Inria Sophia Antipolis - Méditerranée.

The participation fees will be of circa 400 euros, which includes lunches, coffee breaks, and social events.
