Job Description: Genopolis Consortium is an alliance of three scientific public institutions (University of Milano, University of Milano-Bicocca and the Besta Institute of Neurology Foundation) that have established a network of excellence with the aim to develop, integrate and disseminate functional genomics. Genopolis operates as a public, non-profit consortium, located at the University of Milano-Bicocca. The Consortium has a genomics platform based on microarray technologies and supports national and international infrastructures and European networks (http://www.genopolis.it). Applications are invited for a Bioinformatician/Senior Bioinformatician specialized in microarray data analysis to join the Genopolis Consortium Bioinformatics team. Job Description The successful candidate will:
• actively undertake microarray data analyses (using Affymetrix or lllumina expression arrays)
• support the application of cutting-edge microarray technology and analysis techniques
• assist in experimental design, suggest bioinformatics tools for the annotation, analysis, visualization and publication of microarray data
Requirements The successful candidate will be familiar with a range of methods used for functional genomics analysis of data generated by microarray gene expression experiments. Knowledge of statistical methods and their application to microarray analysis is highly desirable as well as an experience of working in multi-disciplinary teams involving bioinformaticians and biologists. Experience with open source software such as R, Bioconductor is a plus.
