How to arrive

Metro Area: Salerno

By Car

• From Naples: get on Motorway A3 from airport or Via Galileo Ferraris and follow directions to Salerno. Continue on A3 to Fisciano and take exit RA2 toward Avellino. After about 8 km, take exit Università; at the roundabout take the second exit and enter the car park on the right.
• From the North (Rome): from Motorway A1 get on Motorway A30 (Caserta-Salerno) toward Salerno; take the exit toward E841-Avellino and shortly after take exit Fisciano-Mercato S. Severino toward Fisciano. Keep right and take lane Università to enter the campus.
• From the East (Bari): get on Motorway A16 (Bari-Napoli); take the exit Avellino Est and take the freeway RA2 Avellino-Salerno toward Salerno; exit at Fisciano-Mercato San Severino toward Fisciano; turn left on via Giovanni Paolo II and after 600 m turn right to enter the campus.
• From the South (Reggio Calabria): get on Motorway A3 (Salerno-Reggio Calabria); take the E841/A30 exit toward Roma/Caserta/Bari/RA2/Avellino and continue onto RA2. After about 8 km, take exit Università; at the roundabout take the second exit and enter the car park on the right.

By Bus

• From Salerno: take CSTP bus 7 or 17 or 27. From Baronissi (University campus) you can also take CSTP bus 47. Please follow this link for further information.
• From Naples: from the bus stop in Via Ferraris (300 meters from Napoli Centrale Station) take SITA bus UNIVERSITA’ FISCIANO/LANCUSI – SALERNO Via autostrada A/30 and get off at Fisciano (Università). Otherwise you can take a bus for Salerno (direction: via Vinciprova, no stop at Fisciano), get off at Salerno p.zza XXIV Maggio (ask the driver for the correct stop) and then take CSTP bus 7 or 17 or 27 to go to Fisciano. By Train

• Travel to Salerno (with Trenitalia or Italo) and continue by bus (see above).

By Plane

Napoli Capodichino International Airport (NAP): from the airport you can take the following buses and the tickets can be purchased on board.

• Take SITA bus to Fisciano University (at 8:45 AM) or to Salerno (at 4:00 PM).
• Take Alibus bus to get to Napoli Centrale Station and take a bus to Fisciano or a train to Salerno.
• Take CSTP bus 119 to get to Salerno - Piazza della Concordia, (bus available from Monday to Saturday).
• Take Buonotourist bus to get to Salerno.

Once arrived in Salerno, take CSTP bus 7 or 17 or 27 to go to Fisciano.

By Ship

Salerno is connected by ship with the cities of Palermo and Messina. For further information visit:

How to leave

The end of the BITS2016 Meeting is planned at 15.30. At the end of the conference, a bus is freely available to transport the participants to the Salerno railway station.

Railway connections available from Salerno in the afternoon:

• Trenitalia: Trains for Naples, Rome, Florence, Bologna, Milan: departure at 17:12 (Frecciarossa, direct connection) or at 17:37 (IC+Frecciarossa). A further connection limited to Rome leaves at 19:37. Trains for Ferrara, Padua, Venice: departure at 17:12 (Frecciarossa+Frecciargento). Please see the Trenitalia web site for more information.
• Italo: Trains for Naples, Rome, Milan: departure at 17:59 (no stop at Florence and Bologna). Please see the Italo web site for more information.

Connection to Naples Airport:

• From Fisciano there is a direct connection with Naples Airport at 17:40 by SITA bus. Arrival at Airport is planned at 18:35
• Otherwise, from Salerno there is the connection with Naples Airport by CSTP bus 119 (departure at 16.27 from Piazza XXIV Maggio). Arrival at Naples Airport is planned at 17:30
