Job Description: Postdoctoral position in Structural Bioinformatics Centre for Molecular Bioinformatics Dept of Biology - University of Rome Tor Vergata Rome, Italy
BACKGROUND: The Centre for Molecular Bioinformatics in the Dept of Biology of the University of Rome Tor Vergata has a postdoc position available in the area of Structural Bioinformatics, in protein structure and function relationships, structure comparison, protein modelling.
REQUIREMENTS: We are seeking a highly motivated research scientist with computational background and interest in biology applications. Strong scripting and programming skills are required, and experience with relational databases is a plus. Background in biology will be a strong advantage. Good English command is required; Italian not needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The successful candidate will work on the development and application of methods and tools for the comparative analysis of protein kinase structures in the human-Leishmania host-parasite system. Special attention will be given to the development of tools for potential inhibitor design and lead optimization. The group and institute are international, equipped and provide excellent working conditions.
