Research Scientist – Bioinformatics/Comparative Genomics
Novozymes is seeking a talented Research Scientist with a background in Comparative Genomics and Bioinformatics to drive the utilization of the tidal wave of genomic information for the discovery of novel microbial enzymes.

Challenges
In the coming few years, hundreds to thousands of microbial genomes will be sequenced in the public domain as well as part of Novozymes' internal efforts. Your main task will be to take on the challenge of handling, analyzing, presenting and mining all of this data.
You will work closely with the rest of the Bioinformatics team and other scientists in the global Novozymes organisation to select and prioritize gene candidates for future enzyme products. In addition, you will work on implementing tools for visualization of complex data sets as well as evaluate and develop methods for function prediction of proteins.
As part of a global organisation you will be expected to communicate your research projects and advice your colleagues on novel bioinformatics tools and methods.

Qualifications
  * You hold a PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Molecular Biology or equivalent
  * You are skilled in one or more programming and scripting languages such as Perl, Python, C, Java
  * You are skilled in working on a Linux/Unix platform
  * You have a proven scientific track record demonstrating your ability to solve biological questions using bioinformatics methodologies and you have direct experience in the field of microbial comparative genomics
  * You have a broad scientific network in the field of bioinformatics/comparative genomics

Research Scientist - Microbial Discovery Bioinformatics
Novozymes is seeking a talented Research Scientist with a background in Molecular biology and Bioinformatics to successfully mine the multitude of microbial genomes for the discovery of novel enzymes.

Challenges
The Rethink Tomorrow motto of Novozymes and the advent of cheap ultra-high throughput genome sequencing technologies encourage a multidisciplinary approach to the discovery of new enzyme classes and functions. To successfully navigate these waters, we are seeking a talented scientist who has a broad understanding of molecular and microbial biology and is able to link this to a bioinformatics-based discovery approach.

We envision that the daily work will be performed in close contact with both colleagues working in the wet-lab and colleagues doing dry biology using bioinformatics. Your role will be to define and understand the most relevant enzyme classes for a given industrial process and to develop and implement a plan for discovery of the best candidate enzymes using a bioinformatics approach.

As part of a global organisation you will be expected to communicate your research projects and advice your colleagues on novel bioinformatics tools and methods.
