Jobs Description
The IRCCS Istituto Ortopedico Rizzoli in Bologna is looking for two Bioinformaticians/Biostatisticians/Computational biologists with different skills to support projects of Medical Genetic Department and CLIBI Laboratory.
1) The first candidate will be mainly in charge of data interoperability in biomedical scenario, in terms of data harmonization/federation, ontologies and biosemantics. S/He will be involved in project of data integration (omics, imaging, epidemiological data, movement analysis, …) for the study of rare diseases.
The candidate is required to:
- Experience on interoperability and biosemantics
- Competences on data management, also including skills on databases/web applications
- eScience
- Good programming skills
- Good command of written and spoken English
- Knowledge of the Linux operating system
- Additional skills on statistics applied to biological research (R, SAS, Python, …) are a golden plus
2) The second candidate will be mainly in charge of integration between clinical bioinformatics and biobanking, in terms of application of in silico and computational approaches to the analyses of genomic data. S/He will be involved in the development of analysis pipelines and support tools of genomic data in rare diseases scenario and in harmonization and integration of samples and associated data.
The candidate is required to:
- Good experience with bioinformatics/biostatistics tools for the analysis of high-throughput sequencing data
- Good knowledge of the Unix/Linux operating system
- Competences on computational analysis of genomic data, workflow of genomic data and integration of computational pipelines for genomic data analysis
- Data management related to samples and disease
- Knowledge of programming language(s)
- Good command of written and spoken English
- Biological background is not mandatory but would be a plus

Additional mandatory requirement
It is mandatory that the selected candidates will acquire the residence or the domicile in Emilia Romagna region before signing the contract.
Salary
Gross salary for the first year is 26.031,92€ (31.972,41€) and will be founded by UNIBO and ONIT Group s.r.l.)
Start date and type of contract
The call opened September the 4th and will close on October the 1st at 13:00.
The contract will start within 2018.

Place of employment and work
Both the candidates will be located at the CLIBI Laboratory of IRCCS Istituto Ortopedico Rizzoli in Bologna (Italy) and at ONIT GROUP in Cesena (Italy).
