Job Description: The Dottorato di Ricerca in Computational Biology and Bioinformatics is one of the PhD programmes inside the School of Doctorate in Biotechnologies of the University of Naples “Federico II”. In our university several research groups exist which are involved on the different aspects of Computational Biology and Bioinformatics. From them the idea was born to create a PhD programme of interdisciplinary nature on the above subjects. Three prestigious Neapolitan research institutes, Ceinge, Tigem and Stazione Zoologica “Anton Dohrn”, apart of the \"Complexity Science Center & Department of Physics, University of Warwick (UK), take part to the educational project of the PhD programme. The research lines are Computational methods for sequence analysis; Combinatorial optimization applied to biological problems; Basic and advanced statistical methods for biological data analysis; Comparative genomics for the identification of functional regions; Pattern Recognition; Literature data mining; Calculability in biological environment; Mathematical modelling of complex regulatory networks; Self organization in biological systems; Modelling of complex systems; Evolutionary modelling; Simulation of biological systems; Systems Biology; Synthetic Biology; Computational evolutionary biology; Analysis of complex genetic traits; Advanced genetic linkage analysis.
